Last Thursday's free edition of the Manchester Evening News carried an article about both clubs football stadiums. Apparently, City fans were arguing against UTD's 'Mancunian' legitimacy on the grounds that it's stadium 'Old Trafford,' isn't even in Manchester! In fact both clubs stadiums are about 15 mins walk from the city centre. The oh so 'mancunian' city supporters are no doubt suffering the same pain as Utd fans have already felt,---resulting from seeing your life-long supported club join the international jet set, and have to make the required 'trend' changes. The City stadium watchers failed to mention that the new City Stadium is built more or less on the same spot as Utd's origional ground when the club was known as Newton Heath. Even worse, they never mentioned that the stadium is built on the remains of 'Bradford Colliery' which was closed down in the 1960's. The 'Big Bang' monument has now been carted away, maybe the City Stadium will dissapear down an old mine shaft!!
